The SHOE CONFESSIONAL is a booth where women are free to share their stories and divulge their shoe secrets.

As part of the SOLE SISTERS film project, filmmaker Cynthia Salzman Mondell showcased her SHOE CONFESSIONAL at the Dallas Museum of Art during the Museum’s presentation of The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk Friday , January 20,2012. The lines were around the corner . This very cool interactive installation returns to the DMA on Saturday and Sunday, February 11 -12, 2012. It was made by a group of designers, artists and volunteers.

Meet filmmakers Cynthia Salzman Mondell and Allen Mondell and view their award-winning film about the Galveston Movement. With great warmth and humor, WEST OF HESTER STREET interweaves the dramatized events of the Galveston Movement with the story of a young Jewish peddler who journeys from Russia to Texas. The late Sam Jaffe narrates the immigrant’s heart-warming story. The film has won multiple awards. A Question & Answer session with Filmmakers will follow the film. Free with exhibit admission.

We lost our dear friend award-winning writer and humorist Maryln Schwartz. She suffered from diabetes and its terrible effects. She kept telling me that she wanted to raise money for SOLE SISTERS. I didn’t think anything of it. But in the end she put down Media Projects www.mediaprojects.org as a charity to donate in her memory. She was determined to fulfill her promise. On the eve of the Corps’ 50th anniversary celebration in the nation’s capital, Allen screened excerpts of WAGING PEACE:The Peace Corps Experience and talked about how the Peace Corps impacted his life. The screening was at the DC JCC.
