The Spirit of Women

Dallas Premiere:

What people are saying about the Premiere:

"Last night was an amazing viewing. I was awed by the film--its content, the sense of history, the realization of how far we have come (women and men) and how far we have to go, the beautiful way you put the film together, the melding of historical clips with some of the 1977 women's leaders today, the artful use of color and shading and photography, and the list goes on.

The young woman who is a SMU leader was not the only one with moist eyes and quavery voice.  Her comments, her being so moved, and her part after the film was a strong witness as to the success of your film's objectives.  She, like us all, was touched by how much so many have done to bring us so far.  And she certainly picked up the torch to encourage her generation to do the same.

We bought a copy of the film and can't wait to show it to our grown kids over the next holiday.

Thank you for your care, your great talent, your sensitivity to things that truly matter, and for spending your life in ways that benefit so many people--not the least of whom are Lucille and me."
Larry Spencer, Presbyterian Minister, Galveston Texas

"I want to  tell you how much I adored your film.  It was terrific and the whole evening was great.  It was a highly personal evening for me,and I would imagine for each person in the audience.  What a wonderful experience to share. Congratulations on a magnificent accomplishment!"
Sally Regenbogen, Librarian at St. Marks School

"I didn’t have an opportunity to tell you last night, but I loved the film!  I, too, was moved by it and by the young SMU woman who closed the program.  Think we could clone her?  I think we may have to!  Much success!"
Emily Tobolowsky, Attorney

"Just a congratulations. Your documentary was outstanding! Really had an impact on me. I learned a lot and loved seeing the women as they are now and hearing their perspective from this vantage point. You really do make a difference."
Paula Grinnell

Congratulations on an extraordinary piece of work in The Spirit of Women. I was at SMU for the screening and was completely overwhelmed at the realization of how far we have NOT moved since 1977. If anything, we are worse off, because our place in the workforce is accepted--but at a certain level and I don't see that changing in my lifetime. I'm sending you a check today for a copy of the video to share with my daughter and granddaughters. I hope it will educate and inspire them in a way we don't seem to be passing on these days. Thank you for adding another match to the torch.
